Technology, Literacy and Education

I have learned a lot this semester about the importance of technology in the classroom. Whether students are in elementary school or college, teachers must be active in learning about new technologies and providing students with the tools they need to succeed. As time goes on, technology becomes a more important part of society and life. Students who are going to school must have experience with the Internet and other aspects of technology.

This semester, I have completed many projects that require the use of technology and fully understand their importance. Using technology in the classroom can increase student participation and allows for students to be creative and engaged. When I enter the classroom, I hope to use all of the skills I learned to teach my students and have them succeed in school.

Polish President Dies in Plane Crash

Though this maybe old news to many Americans, it continues to be a tragedy for Polish people around the world.
It is hard to believe that such a tragedy has happened, but it most certainly could have been prevented. How could the Russian military not allowed the pilots to land the plane? It is also strange that this happened on the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre of WWII. Thousands of Polish officers were murdered for no reason by the Russians who had covered it up for many years. This accident cannot all be pilot error to blame. Everyone has their own opinions about the situation and what may have happened but it truly needs to be investigated more thoroughly.
It was nice to see many world leaders attend the funeral of the Polish President and his wife, despite the volcano's eruption. President Obama was playing golf during the ceremony and had cancelled his trip due to the ash.

Here is an interesting video shot moments after the crash. Gunshots can be heard in the background and people yelling "dont shoot us in Polish"

The funeral of the Presidental pair was several hours long and one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have ever seen. Too bad it was not aired in America for all to see, but was only shown on Polish tv on the internet
